Plural libros mesas noches esquíes hoteles ciudades
  If the singular noun ends with a vowel, the plural noun is formed by adding -s. If the singular noun ends with a consonant, the plural noun is formed by adding -es.

  • Some nouns only exist as plural nouns:
    • las vacaciones, las gafas
  • Some nouns only exist as singular nouns:
    • la gente
  • Singular nouns that end with -z are ending with -ces in their plural form:
    • una vez - unas veces
  • Singular nouns that end with -s after a vowel don't change in their plural form:
    • el lunes - los lunes
  • Singular nouns that end with a consonant and have an accent on the last syllable lose their accent in the plural form:
    • el alemán - los alemanes
